FLUX: Earth
"Shades of Stillness"
(Ongoing)
FLUX is a collection of video art works, an ongoing research on constant change and balance, through the narrative of elements.
The successive chapter of this collection, FLUX: Earth “Shades of Stillness”, is a series of video art works and short films, narrating tales from diverse landscapes, documenting the element “Earth”; a depiction of the mind and the search of a state of “Consciousness”;
an effortless disposition of Foundation and Stability.
Earth is the here and now. It is the grounding element of action, yet being the ultimate plane of transformation and
the center of all motion.
Over centuries, ancient cultures had developed philosophical concepts and thought patterns to grasp the mechanism of life and being. By all means the influence between Hinduism and Buddhism is inevitably lucid, however, the analogy in the realization of elements in completely different parts of the world, such as Aztec, Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Indian and Central African communities,
in the absence of any cultural interaction, is truly substantial.
The collection’s main focus is to develop a channel to understand the concept of the mind’s liberation, interpreting the ancient Eastern teachings into a script that is free from the analytical abstraction of the Western approach.
Through this series of video art works, "Shades of Stillness" aims to construct a holistic and immersive experience for the viewers,
whilst carrying them through a continuous loop of moving inside and outside, encouraging to find a common ground
to be the observer and observee concurrently.
I'm the Mother, I'm the Newborn | 2o24
"I'm the Mother, I'm the Newborn", the first narrative of the “Shades of Stillness” collection, is an interpretation of the secret language of Gaia. In Greek mythology, she is the personification of the Earth and one of the primordial deities. According to ancient texts, she emerges from Chaos, the void or nothingness that existed before the creation of the world. She is one of the first beings to come into existence and is considered the mother of all life, giving birth to the sky, the mountains, and the sea. The visuals are predominantly captured in Martvili Canyon, located in a region rich in myths and legends that celebrate the landscape and its natural features. These stories often personify elements of nature, similar to how Gaia embodies the Earth in Greek Mythology.

Pachamama's Song | 2o24
“Pachamama’s Song,” the second narrative of the "Shades of Stillness" collection, is a poetic letter from Pachamama, the embodiment of Mother Earth in Andean cultures. It explores the profound interconnectedness between all living beings and the Earth, emphasizing that the well-being of humankind is inseparable from the health and balance of the planet.
The narrative draws from Andean Cosmovision and is closely tied to the Amazon Rainforest, where the majority of the visuals were captured. It reflects the spiritual and cultural links shared between the Andes Mountains and the Amazon jungle, honoring the wisdom of Indigenous peoples who view these landscapes as sacred and alive.
The piece is accompanied by music performed by La Comunidad Nativa Kukama de Padre Cocha, recorded during their traditional ceremonies in their village in the Peruvian Amazon, further grounding the work in the voices and rhythms of the land.
